CrossFit is about teaching people how to move. The definition of CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity. CrossFit is designed to work for everyone. It is scalable in all aspects making it the perfect fitness regime for anyone committed to improving their health and fitness regardless of experience. All of our workouts are based on functional movements, the core movements of life. You will learn things that will help you carry your groceries, play with your kids, and improve your daily life.
We combine movements such as running, rowing, biking, jumping rope, weightlifting, and many familiar bodyweight exercises. We use barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, pull-up bars, medicine balls, and boxes. These elements are mixed in numerous combinations to form our daily workouts, and to keep your body guessing! Our coach led CrossFit classes are an hour long and include a warm-up, mobility work, skill and strength development, and of course conditioning!
It doesn’t matter what brought you here: a devoted friend’s persistence, a coach or doctor’s recommendation, or maybe inspiration from the latest Reebok commercial… regardless, welcome to Verity Speed & Strength!
The very first thing you will discover is that CrossFit does not discriminate. Whether you are 50 years old or have just completed your 50th marathon. Whether you are recovering from injury or healing a broken heart. Whether walking the dog is the only exercise you’ve had in years, or you’re someone training for the Iditarod… CrossFit will help you achieve your fitness goals.
One of the things that make us so unique is our community of people from literally every walk of life: stay-at-home parents, elite athletes, students, CEOs, members of the armed services, firefighters, you name it. CrossFit bodies—our bodies—come in every imaginable size, shape, and age; and yet, our workouts every day, are designed for anyone to do them.
Yes, anyone… even you.
“Scalability” is a word that you will hear frequently here at Verity. During each class, everyone does the same workout, but that workout will always have several scaling options. This makes it possible for all of us—with our different body types, personal goals and levels of ability—to work alongside one another safely. We motivate one another, cheer one another on, and sometimes participate in some healthy competition. But, ultimately, every workout is yours alone. You will always work at your pace… but when you need a little extra push, we are there for you!
